Dr.  James Schaefer a licensed, clinical psychologist with over 30 years of  experience in the field of mental health. Dr. Schaefer specializes as a  Child and Adolescent Psychologist with advanced training and experience  in conducting child/adolescent psychotherapy, testing and assessment in  complex diagnostic cases, treatment of autism spectrum, ADHD and behavioral disorders, as well as  family  therapy.  He also specializes in couples therapy and completed a 2 year advanced training specific to treating couples and families. Dr. Schaefer provides consultation and psychological services  to clients of all ages and has developed programs for schools, special  education classrooms, community living centers and for parents in the  area of behavior management for school-age children. Dr.  Melodie Schaefer is a licensed, clinical psychologist with over 30 years of  experience providing consultation services and psychotherapy to  individuals, couples, families and groups presenting with a wide-range  of concerns. Dr. Schaefer has published and lectured nationally and internationally on issues pertaining to substance abuse, trauma, advocacy and other mental health topics.  She has and continues to serve on various boards and has held academic appointments at UCLA, Fuller  and Loyola Universities. Dr. Schaefer’s clinical areas of expertise  include substance abuse, trauma, women’s issues, depression and anxiety disorders, EMDR/hypnosis,  communication skills training, sexual dysfunction, mindfulness  meditation, stress management, couple and family enrichment, and issues  related to mood, anxiety, phobias, performance anxiety and personal and executive coaching. Dr.  Siegel is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of  experience providing psychotherapy to preteen children, adolescents,  adults, families, and couples. Dr. Siegel integrates  cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic theories to treat a range  of mental health conditions, including behavioral difficulties, mood  and anxiety disorders, traumatic occurrences, psychotic syndromes,  personality issues, substance and alcohol struggles, and adjustment  challenges. His years of experience of working with school districts and  knowledge of special education laws will be beneficial when working  with preteen children and adolescents with a history of academic  problems.
